Accommodation and Resources

The New Beacon is beautifully situated in over 21 acres of garden, playing fields and woodland in a semi-rural location just outside Sevenoaks.

This is the perfect environment for work and play.

In addition to the main purpose-built School, facilities have been developed extensively over the years and are of the highest order.

Please click on the photograph to the right to take a virtual tour (3 Mbytes download, and requires 'Flash' player.)

The New Beacon is divided into four sections:

  • Pre Prep, age 4 - 7
  • Junior School, age 7 - 9
  • Middle School, age 9 - 11
  • Senior School, age 11 - 13

On admission, boys are placed in the appropriate class with consideration given to ability as well as age. The average size of class at The New Beacon is 16. The pupil:teacher ratio is normally 12:1.

The first aim of any good school should be to provide a sound academic education and New Beacon boys have an excellent record of examination successes at 11+, Common Entrance and Scholarship. However, there is more to school life than final examinations.

Please come and see the School for yourself. To arrange a visit or request a Prospectus, please ring the Registrar on 01732 452131 for an appointment.

A limited number of Academic and Music Bursaries are available. Further details can be found via the 'Downloads' page.
