On Wednesday,  6 February, the boys from year 2, 3 and 4 were lucky enough to receive a visit from the popular children’s author Tom Palmer. Tom admits that he when he was a young boy was a reluctant reader, however his mum encouraged him to focus on the things he loved and he began reading the football highlights in the newspaper. Once he found something that interested him he couldn’t stop. He told us how long it had taken him to have his first book published and how he had to deal with many rejections along the way, but with hard work he is now a successful author, having published 48 books! The boys really put Tom in the spot light asking an amazing range of questions. We found out so much, even the first ever published word Tom wrote…’every‘. I hope the boys were inspired by Tom’s determination and the resilience he needed to reach his goals.
