During Eco-day, the boys worked extremely hard to make eco-bricks and I’m thrilled that given how challenging they are to make, we have 30 viable bricks. Many boys have taken any non-viable ones home to rectify and by the time they come back in to school, we should have close to 50.

We have a large quantity of empty, clean bottles and bamboo sticks stored in the Junior School should anyone like to continue making them at home, as this is an on-going project where we will need a large quantity of ‘bricks’ in order to think about using them to build with.

To ensure the bricks are viable, their weight needs to be a third of the bottle’s capacity, so a 750ml bottle will need to weigh 250g. It will need to be labelled with your child’s name, class, date it was completed and its weight. This link will give you all the information you need on how to make eco-bricks.

We thank you for your continuing support in helping prevent plastic waste pollute the environment.
