After the Year 4 Sports Day on Thursday, 27June, Year 4 held a small cake sale to help raise money for three year old Esme, who was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia in June 2018. Esme received a stem cell transplant under the NHS, however, in April of this year her illness returned and her family were sadly informed that any further treatment would most likely not be covered by the NHS. We heard about Esme and brought her situation to the School’s attention and asked for permission to hold a Year 4 cake sale to raise money towards Esme’s ongoing treatment. We are would like to thank Mr Piercy and Mrs Alteirac for giving our initiative the go-ahead and we are delighted to have raised £120, as a year group, for Esme.
We would like to thank all parents and boys who donated cakes and all of the Year 4 boys who supported our sale. We hope this makes a little difference to Esme.
