Y5 set off under blue skies on Thursday 4 July for the annual end of term trip to the Imperial War Museum at RAF Duxford, Cambridgeshire.

This fantastic museum boasts a Land Warfare Hall housing numerous exhibits from WWI to the present day, as well as one of the finest collections of aircraft in the UK – many of which still take to the skies.

The boys enjoyed a full tour of the museum, seeing for real many of the weapons they’d heard about in their history lessons this year. A particular highlight was going on board Concorde, and of course seeing Spitfires, Hurricanes and a Lancaster bomber ‘in the flesh’.

The boys were a credit to the school and their behaviour was impeccable – the RAF would have been proud of their discipline!
