Our annual prizegiving ceremony, a week earlier than usual to accommodate the NBPA fete, was a glorious, baking occasion.  As always, the boys impress me with their self-discipline, sitting quietly and still for an hour in the heat.  Few may know that the boys do not know beforehand that they have won a prize so their alacrity in getting up to collect their award impresses all the more.

It was an occasion to celebrate the year’s successes, not least an ‘excellent’ inspection report, scholarships, 100% pass rate to senior schools, departing boys and staff.  The New Beacon at its best!

The fete to follow was tremendous.  So many parent volunteers give freely of their time to create a great afternoon for the boys and, as always, I am enormously grateful to the NBPA committee for their dedication to the school community.
