In support of Raleigh International ICS – overseas volunteering programme.

I am delighted to have been accepted as a volunteer with Raleigh International Community Service in Tanzania for 10 weeks commencing February 2020.

Raleigh International ICS is an overseas volunteering programme supported by the UK Government. It brings together young people from the UK and those from developing countries to work side-by-side in some of the poorest communities in Africa to create lasting change.

I will work in either the Livelihood or WASH programmes, staying with a local family in rural Tanzania.

  • Livelihood aims to develop youth and womens entrepreneurship and set up local businesses in the community. WASH’s objective is to educate communities on the importance of sanitation and improve access to clean water.  In order to participate in the programme and show my commitment I have been given a fundraising target, the proceeds from which enable it to be run every year. To achieve this, I have produced a 2020 wall calendar using wildlife photos I took on a recent trip to Tanzania, combining my interests in animals and photography. All proceeds from selling the calendar for £12.50 (after printing costs to which Africa Travel have kindly contributed) will go to Raleigh International Trust. Your support would be greatly appreciated – I hope you enjoy the photos.

I would be happy to follow up on any questions you may have – I am contactable via Facebook and via my Just Giving page
