What a great IAPS Hockey Tournament the Under 11 boys have had, and what an amazing experience to take on board for their future Hockey at the New Beacon! Considering they haven’t played any warm up matches before the tournament, the boys have done us all proud as they marched through the tournament. The boys won 3 out of 3 in the group stages and made it to the knockout stages, and conceded only one goal and scored six goals.

In the knockout stage they played Hurstpierpoint. After conceding an early goal, the boys came back strong and Ignacio saved the day by scoring a hat-trick. Then came the semi finals against Edgeborough, in my opinion the strongest team in the tournament. The boys started to look shattered, and it was tough. Unfortunately we lost 0/4. We still had another chance to make it to the national finals but sadly we lost again and came fourth, as only the top 3 teams make it to the finals. Coming fourth out of 16 teams is an amazing achievement for a team playing together for the first time. They enjoyed themselves and played some fantastic Hockey. Well done boys and keep it up.
