I am delighted to give you an update from all the fun remote learning that has been happening in the Pre Prep and Junior School this week.
This week’s Junior School Assembly was all about St George’s Day, the Patron Saint of England. I asked the boys to draw or colour a picture of St George slaying a dragon, or to make a St George’s flag. Well done to all of the boys who took part. On our Facebook & Twitter pages you can see some of their lovely designs.
There are so many heartwarming stories of people coming together during this time of global crisis, one way is that children are drawing rainbows to put in their windows to show their support for all of the NHS staff and keyworkers who are putting themselves at risk by going to work each day. Some of our New Beacon boys have been busy drawing and painting rainbows to thank the NHS staff.
Mr Piercy’s challenge this week was to write a note or card to someone who might be isolated, alone or lonely. Here is a lovely letter from Edward to his Grandfather who is self isolating in Scotland with his dog Tara.
Well done to the boys who are continuing to write their journal. Even if you can only manage to write an entry every few days that’s great. Please see a couple of journal entries from this week.
