Kindness is the quality of being friendly, generous and considerate to others and ourselves. Mindfulness is being conscious or aware of something, being ‘in the moment’. When we add kindness to mindfulness we get ‘kindfulness’. ‘Kindfulness’ is bringing attention to being kind to oneself, as an act of self-care.

This week in Pre-Prep and Junior School assemblies we looked at the term ‘kindfulness,’ and explored different ways that we can show kindness to ourselves. We also looked at Random Acts of Kindness and how these can lift our spirits and make others, and ourselves feel better and more positive.

The challenge set for the boys this week was to take a photo or a video of themselves doing a random act of kindness. Please click here to see some of the many ways that New Beacon boys shower others with kindness.
