Many Year 5 and Year 6 boys spent some of their spare time beavering away on making models for the Middle School Model Making Competition hosted by Mr Probert during the last half term. There were lots of fantastic entries and the standard of models was excellent – these ranged from traditional Airfix kits to large cardboard-box aeroplanes big enough to hold a ten-year old occupant! Check out our Facebook page.

Judging the wonderful entries was not easy, but the overall winner was Alex P’s (5B) creation of a full battlefield diorama (pictured) complete with homemade landscape and numerous figures and equipment to populate the scene. Well done, Alex, and a model of an Airfix P-51 Mustang awaits you upon your return to school on 8th March.

Congratulations to all Year 5 and Year 6 boys who entered, and it is good to see the traditional hobby of model making is still alive and well amongst New Beacon boys.
