This week lots of fun was had across Nursery, Pre-Prep and Junior School for Book Week. The children took part in live events hosted by the World Book Day team, plus a fantastic live event with David Walliams. Nursery and Reception have really gone to town and dressed up every day of the week. What a fantastic effort!

We hosted an illustration competition using Draw with Rob by Rob Biddulph. Each year group drew a different character. There have been some truly incredible illustrations and choosing winners was a tough job indeed.

Our work this week was inspired by two beautifully illustrated wordless books and this led to the theme of escape.

Pre-Prep looked at Door by Ji-Hyeon Lee. A forgotten door is found and behind it, is a magical world.

Junior School focused on The Journey by Aaron Becker. Where a lonely girl draws a door on her bedroom wall. What does she find behind it?

All the boys drew and described the place they would like to find behind their door. We had some fantastic ideas from all of them. Some of the children described magical worlds but many chose favourite places or people they have missed during these recent restrictions.

Well done to all the boys for their enthusiasm and wonderful imaginations.
