The New Beacon is supporting ‘CleanUp Sevenoaks’ which is a group aimed to keep our beautiful district as clean and tidy as possible by raising awareness of litter and fly-tipping, educating future generations and organising events to clean up our environment.

In collaboration with the district and town councils, this group will be working with schools across the district, the Scouts, local businesses and some inspiring sponsors to pick up as much litter as possible on 20th and 21th March.

If you would like to get involved, please email Mr Presnell.  Litter picking kits will be given out to the children to take home during the last few days of term – although, please note, there are a limited number of kits available so they will be issued on a first come, first basis.

Due to social distancing rules, this should only be a family or ‘bubble’ activity!

Participants are encouraged to join and share their pictures on the Cleanup Sevenoaks Facebook page.  They will also be entered into a prize draw and there will be a prize for the school with highest number of litter pickers – prizes have been donated by Cook, EatnMess, Life on High, Malabar, Wagamama, Pizza Uno, to name just a few!

Please see this separate leaflet for more details. Additional information can be found on the CleanupSevenoaks website.
