Update – Thank you so much for those who have donated so far – we are still collecting until the end of term.
The New Beacon are collecting any used picture story books for Early Years teachers in rural Kenyan schools. Can you help? If you are looking to have a clear out of any picture story books suitable for ages 1 to 5 then we would love to pass them along to ‘Pursue’ to help the children foster a love of reading. The books are not sold on, but go straight to the teachers in these schools to help. Please see the flyer above for more information about what books are wanted and visit www.pursue.org.uk to find out a little more about the charity.
Books can be dropped off in the black box outside the music block from Monday 22nd November until the end of term. If you have any questions, please email Mrs Manning, who is co-ordinating with the charity (firstname.lastname@example.org), and Mrs Harris (email@example.com) and Mrs Sherhod (firstname.lastname@example.org) who are co-ordinating the collection in school.
Thank you in advance.
