On Monday, the Middle School enjoyed their now annual Christmas Debate in the Studio.

Oliver S, Freddie, Zarak and Hugh from Y6 proposed the motion that teachers can be replaced by computers and put forward some very compelling reasons as to why A.I. would make a better teacher than the good old-fashioned human being!

Arthur, Tom S, Christopher and Jasper felt otherwise and argued that there is no substitute for human interaction when it comes to education – they felt that although technology has its place in the modern classroom, the human teacher is simply irreplaceable.

With some very strong arguments and plenty of contribution and discussion from a very willing Y5 and Y6 audience, it was decided that humans should remain in the classroom – much to the relief of all teachers present!

Great fun was had by all, and a sincere thank you to the Y6 boys who led the debate.
