The Science Department is excited to announce a number of bespoke workshops at Tonbridge School Barton Science Centre. This is an excellent opportunity for the boys to spend time in one of the best and most modern school laboratories in the country and can only enhance the boys’ understanding of key syllabus topics and enthuse them for future scientific studies.
During the course of February and March Tonbridge School have kindly offered to host all of Y7 and Y8 with the following dates confirmed:
|Tuesday, 1 February||7A and 7B|
|Thursday, 3 February||8B|
|Tuesday, 8 February||7C|
|Thursday, 3 March||8A and 8C|
We will travel to and from Tonbridge in school minibuses and where numbers permit each session will be accompanied by two members of staff. Boys will be expected to wear full school uniform on these days, so please ensure boys arrive appropriately dressed on their ‘trip’ day.
We will leave school at 1:30pm (after lunch) and will return soon after 3.30pm, which will give Y7 a chance to do some chromatography and distillation and Y8 to look at the forces behind pendulums and AND/OR circuitry.
As these trips are during school time and only involve school transport I am hoping that all pupils in Y7 and Y8 will get a chance to attend (absentees on the day may be able to join another group). There will be no additional cost for these sessions, but if you would prefer that your son did not attend then please opt out by contacting me on this email.
