Pancake Day Assembly is always a highlight of the year.  On Tuesday Mr Swann explained to the Pre Prep and Junior School boys the meaning of Shrove Tuesday; how traditionally during Lent, Christians would give up rich, tasty foods such as butter, eggs, sugar and fat. Shrove Tuesday was the last chance to eat them – and what better way to do so than with a delicious pancake! We then said a prayer together before starting our traditional Pancake Day Race. There was much excitement and you could hear the thunderous cheering on the High Street. Boys from each year group competed against each other, having to flip a pancake in a frying pan, over a piece of string, and run to the finish line.
The winners in each year group are as follows:
Reception ~ Leo
Year 1 ~ Rory
Year 2 ~ Zidan
Year 3 ~ Eddie
Year 4 ~ Bundy
The final race was the much coveted Teachers’ Race, the winner this year was Mr Eisawy.
