Please find below details of the Year 5 outing to the Imperial War Museum at the former RAF Duxford which will take place on Wednesday, 6 July 2022.
As we will have to deal with M25 traffic, we would like all boys to be in school by 8.20am so we will be ready to leave at 8.40am. Boys should go directly to the School Room, where accompanying staff will register them. We will be returning to school around 5:00pm, traffic permitting. You will be contacted via a Clarion call message if we are going to be delayed.
The school will provide water, fruit and snacks. We recommend boys bring their own sandwich of choice – if you would like the school to provide a sandwich please let me know. Your son should bring his own (refillable) water bottle and may bring his own heathy snack. No sweets, please!
If your son suffers from travel sickness, please make sure you inform us beforehand and ensure he is given appropriate medication if necessary. This should be handed to us on the morning of the trip.
Your son will be required to wear school uniform on the day, including a sweater, but not his blazer. Your son should wear trainers instead of his school shoes. He should bring a small rucksack to school to carry his packed lunch and a waterproof coat should the weather look inclement.
Boys should not bring electronic games, mobile ‘phones or watches. Your son may bring a camera if he wishes although it will be at his own risk. We are happy for boys to bring small card games for the coach journey if they wish.
There is a gift shop and we have incorporated spending money for the boys in the cost of the trip. Your son will be given money by his group leader when they visit the shop. Boys will be encouraged to buy a souvenir (model Airfix kits and such-like) but they will not be permitted to buy sweets with this money. Boys should not bring any additional money with them.
The cost of the trip will be £36.50, which will be added to your end of term bill.
If you are happy for your son to accompany us on the trip, please complete the online form below by Friday, 24 June 2022.
