Last week the Year 8 cohort had a wonderful time in Bristol and Newquay. After the exertions of the examinations the previous week, this adventure was just the right tonic. It was such a pleasure to see how much the boys relaxed and enjoyed all of the places that we visited. In fact, the Cornish pasty making experience at the Philleigh Cookery School was a particular favourite amongst the boys. St Christopher’s Inn in Newquay was well-positioned for us to be able to make full use of the beach. Some of the places we visited were the Woodlands Nature Park, the most impressive Eden Project, Paignton Zoo, ten pin bowling in Bristol, the Seal Sanctuary, Newquay Reef Aquarium and our last port of call, the Waterpark Splashdown.
It was a tired but content group of boys and staff who arrived back at The New Beacon for a good night’s sleep back in our own beds. Well done to the boys who made the trip well worth the effort of organising and a big debt of gratitude is also extended to Messrs Yeats-Brown and Yarrow and Ms Bibby. Thank you!
