Y5 returned to IWM Duxford on Wednesday following a Covid-enforced three-year absence, enjoying a fantastic day at this historic aerodrome. After a traffic-free journey up the M11, the boys arrived in good spirits and walked the one mile(!) to the far end of the airfield to peruse the Land Warfare Hall containing much army hardware used over the last century. On from there, Y5 visited the numerous hangars containing the best of aviation past and present: Spitfires, Hurricanes, Lancasters, B-52s and Concorde to name but a few. A super day was had by all, and after a quick visit to the shop, all returned safely home to rest their weary legs.
