We have two very talented sportsmen in Year 5, competing at a national level in two very different sports. Both have had considerable success in their respective sports of late: Marcus in 5C is celebrating being crowned English Champion at U10 skiing, and Kai in 5B has recently reached the top of the ranking charts for the South East in swimming.

Marcus has recently returned from Italy where he trained and competed over half term. He won both the Parallel Slalom and Giant Slalom for his age group, becoming the highest ranked U10 in England. He finished 5th overall, having raced against peers from a wide-range of different nationalities. Well done, Marcus!

Kai in 5B is a very talented swimmer and has been competing at a national level in various freestyle events of late. Last weekend, Kai had a very successful County Championships at The London Aquatic Centre, being the only 10-year-old to make the qualifying time for the 200m Freestyle (boys and girls) where he had to compete against 11-year-olds, finishing in 8th place overall and receiving a medal as a finalist. His time was a 10-second personal best and he’s now ranked first in Kent and the South East region for his age. Nationally, he is ranked 8th – congratulations, Kai! This weekend the championships continue and Kai’s participating in 100m Freestyle – we wish him the best of luck.
