A strong team of 17 boys attended the Bracken Cup Cross Country at Schools at Somerhill on Monday and returned with silverware and many excellent performances. Over a tough 3km hilly course all those representing the New Beacon performed heroically and can be hugely proud of their efforts. First up was the U9 Boys who finished 3rd team on the day, with Zidan B taking the silver, followed closely by William M in third with Arthur S, William S and Freddie and Monty M scoring valuable team points. The U11s were captained by Josh M, who despite being a year young in the age group finished a superb 19th(out of 100 starters) with Alex M being the highest placed NB runner (6th). The U13 team was made up entirely of U12s with the older boys sitting exams, so it was encouraging to see Alex P bring the team home with a top 30 placing. Well done to everyone and thanks too to Mr Young for his support on the day.
