37 intrepid Year Seven boys and five courageous staff departed The New Beacon at the rather uncivilised hour of 5 a.m. on Wednesday, 17 May and headed for Paris.

Over the next four days, they would visit Arras, the Eiffel Tower, Napoleon’s tomb, Disneyland and the Tour Montparnasse (amongst others).

Tired and weary, but with smiles on their faces they returned to school late on Saturday, 20 May. You can read 7ii’s self-penned account of their trip below. Be warned, you’ll need to dust off your French – and there may be a test later!

Thanks to Mr Vincent, Mr Burton, Mr Y-B Jr and Miss Bibby for all their support before, during and after the trip, to the parents for getting up so early on the first day (!) and finally to the boys for making it a most enjoyable experience.
