Keeping our fingers crossed for an improvement in the weather, we set off for the annual visit to Chessington after a slight delay as we waited on the decision on the U12 cup final match – would they play or not? The decision was taken to cancel just as the coach was about to leave and that meant that the 8 cricketers were able to join us for the Chessington trip after all. We wish the boys the best of luck for the re-arranged final in September. We arrived at Chessington as the weather improved and the sun came out! A well deserved outing was then enjoyed to the full with tales of scores on Tomb Blaster, rides on Vampire and Dragon’s Fury and some unhelpful water pistol squirting (no names mentioned, Mr Yeats-Brown jnr!). Vast quantities of various types of confectionery were consumed – do boys ever stop eating?! – and before we knew it, it was time to return to school. I have been running this trip for 10 years now and I have to say that this group of year 7 boys were the easiest and nicest group to take – thank you boys for your company and good humour.  My thanks to Mr Ribbans-Opara, Mr Barratt, Mr Ryde and Mr Yeats-Brown Jnr.
