|The boys are beginning to settle into the routines of a new academic year. This week in assemblies we looked at worries. In Pre-Prep assembly boys were read the Worrysaurus and the Junior School boys read A Huge Bag of Worries. We talked about how important it is to share your worries with someone, however big or small. We spoke about the different people you could speak to- parents, grandparents, teachers, Dr Maslin and we also re-introduced the Worry Box. Boys know that if they don’t feel comfortable sharing a worry in person, they can always write it down, put it in the box and Dr Maslin (who checks the box daily) will come check in on them.
A reminder that breaktime snacks should be healthy options. Please also remember that these snacks and any other food/drink brought into school should not contain any nuts.
This week saw a great start to our activities. A reminder that any boy can attend ‘activities club’ or ‘prep club’ (previously referred to as Brothers’ Club) and be collected at any time- Pre-Prep boys from the Central Area and Junior School boys from the JS Library. All other internal school clubs finish at 4:55pm. Drama, Chess, Swimming, Judo and Ji Jitsu finish at their stated times and boys can be collected directly from this club from the designated venue. If you would like your son to attend ‘activities club’ or ‘prep club’ after their club has finished, please email Mrs Harding to inform us.
At 5pm all Pre-Prep boys should be collected from the Garden Pitch and Junior School boys from the Music block. Any older brothers will join their youngest brother at their collection point. Any boys remaining at school beyond this time will be taken to After School Club and parents will be charged accordingly.

Individual and Sibling Photographs – Monday, 18 September
This takes place in The Studio in the NBC and we request your son wears his blazer to school on this day. He will sit for the photograph wearing his blazer, but no jumper.
On Thursday, 28 September we are holding our inaugural sons and parent/grandparent maths competition. This is open to boys in years 3-8 only. Each boy must be accompanied by one parent or grandparent (not an older sibling). It is from 5:00pm-6:00pm in the Studio and entries are limited and on a first come first served basis. If you would like your son to take part, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org with the name of your son and the accompanying adult. We ask that the accompanying adult is not overly competitive, this is an inclusive, fun competition and we would like to see the boys answering many of the questions.
Read Write Inc. Books
During our stock check of the reading books for our Read Write Inc. scheme, we have noticed that there were 29 books not returned last year. As you can imagine this is very costly and will need to be replaced. Please can all pupils and parents in Years 1-4 have a look through your book boxes for any school books. Therefore, on this note, a reminder to read the book the night it is sent home, every Wednesday and Friday, and ensure it is returned every Thursday and Monday mornings. If the book is not returned, we will not be able to issue another until it has been returned. Many thanks.
Year 1 and 2 LEGO Club
From next week please can you collect your son at 4:30pm from the exterior door of Mr Braidwood’s Reception classroom.
Year 4 Choir
All Year 4 boys are encouraged to attend choir at 8am every Friday morning. Please drop boys off at the Music block and they can go straight into their Music classroom- M1. Please note there will be no choir on Friday 29th September.
Parent Information Evenings
We will host our Year 3 and 4 Parents’ Information Evenings next week. This is a chance to meet other parents in the year group and find out more about the daily running of the school and things to look forward to this year. They will all take place from 7pm in the Studio.
