On Thursday, 7 March the NBSRC 1st VIII went to Eastbourne for our termly match against St Andrew’s Prep Eastbourne.

The team felt confident as everyone has been shooting well this term and we came away with a win last term. St Andrew’s are a good side so it would be competitive.

The match was even until the halfway point. St Andrew’s were very consistent on their home ground, and we started to leak a few points here and there so ended up behind at the final tally.

Both Edward and Damien scored 96, Amedeo a 95 and Chris 94. Despite our good scores, St Andrew’s finished on 742 ex 800 and an average of 92.75 per gun, a couple of points clear of us. At one win each this now sets up a decisive match next term where we hope to have access to the Sevenoaks Range to take St Andrew’s out of their comfort zone!

Thomas and Amedeo were awarded their 1st VIII team shooting badge as this as their first selection for the school’s 1st VIII.
