What a fantastic week we have had returning back to school after the half term break. Everyone has really enjoyed seeing their friends again, and it has been a super week too. This half term is filled with many events and we start them off next week with Healthy Living Week. It is important to think about a healthy lifestyle, and not just about healthy eating. Our aim is to educate our youngest children with the tools to ensure they have a healthy life, both mental health and physical health.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend, and look forward to seeing you all in your bright coloured item of clothing next week.

Kind regards,

Mrs Taylor
Head of Early Years

Over the next two weeks the whole school will be looking at Water Safety. All the boys will need to bring to the pool a pair of shorts and a t-shirt to wear over their normal swimming kit.

10 – 14 June
Next week is Healthy Living Week! The focus is on ‘Give it a go!’ There will be a specific focus for each day of the week and we are asking the boys to come dressed in one item of clothing in the correct colour along with their uniform.

Monday (Green): Get at least 5 a day – Fresh, frozen, dried and canned all count!

Tuesday (Red): Stay hydrated – Have about 6-8 drinks a day. Tap water is a great choice.

Wednesday (Orange): Move more – Find ways to be more active every day.

Thursday (Yellow): Focus on fibre – Have more wholegrain foods, fruit, vegetables, beans and lentils.

Friday (Multicolours): Reduce food waste – Aim for the right amount when you shop, cook and eat.

Please click HERE for more information about ‘Healthy Living Week’ next week.

What a trip around the world we have been on in Nursery this week. It has been lovely to welcome visitors to our Nursery to share and enjoy stories from many different cultures and places around the world. Thank you to everyone who shared their experiences and storytelling. If anyone else would like to visit us and share a story, please do let me know. Please see the highlights section and the Reach More Parents app for photos and more details of our activities.

Mrs Griffiths and myself will be holding Parent Consultations in the final full week of this half term. A sign up sheet will appear in the entrance next week for you to select your time.

Monday 17 June 2024
We have arranged a visit to Sevenoaks Wildlife Reserve on Monday, 17 June.  The boys will take part in minibeast hunting and pond dipping organised by the Reserve staff. It will be a great day.

We do hope the weather will be kind to us but, in any event, the boys will wear wellies (these should already be in school).  If the weather forecast is for rain/showers, we will also take our school waterproofs.  If the forecast is for sun, please see your son has sun cream applied before he comes to school and we will take the boys’ school sun hats with us.

Please could you provide your son with a healthy packed lunch, including a suitable drink and a separate morning snack, all of which should be named and in a small rucksack. Please remember NO NUTS.

We plan to leave school at 9.30 am and will return in time before the normal end of the school day. The boys and staff will be travelling there and back in the school minibuses.

Please complete the permission form on the new Reach More Parents app by Thursday, 13 June.

On Friday 21 June it is Grandparent/Special visitor day from 1.00pm – 3.00pm. Many of you have not replied to this. Please follow the link here to complete the form as we need to send out the formal invitations on Monday.

As Dinosaurs now move to one side (extinct again!), our focus for the rest of this term is on all things related to ‘Water’. Our dinosaur topic really inspired many of the boys and we are hoping that learning all about the oceans and the creatures that live in them will further inspire the boys to gain confidence in their writing as they prepare to move on to Year 1.

There are so many opportunities to learn and play with water!  Please see the Teams activity for your weekend in the hot weather!

Mrs Bridgeman said it was a really good lesson this week. Some of the boys still need some help with getting changed after the lesson so please keep practising this. We would like to invite you to our Reception Summer Splash which will be held on Tuesday 2 July, from 9.15am – 10.30am. Please do let us know if you can make it here.
