It is always such a fun way to play and learn; when the activities provided have a focus. There is always room to go off into a new direction, and in the Early Years we love to have starting points to build the learning from. Healthy Living is such a great example of this and a super topic, with so much practical learning experiences and opportunities. The youngest children in our school have really got up close and personal to many important topics, and enjoyed lots of hands-on experiences relating to being healthy. We have also been fortunate enough to have parents come in and talk to us; about nutrition and poo! I have reminded the boys that this weekend isn’t the end of thinking about our health. It is the beginning of thinking ahead, thinking about ‘Giving it a go’, and preparing for our future.

Please read below for more information regarding school matters in the Early Years, and to see photos of the things we have been busy doing this week.

Kind regards,

Mrs Taylor
Head of Early Years

Please could we ask that if you need to park your car in the morning (be it for meetings with teachers or to drop something off at the office) you avoid using the staff parking bays.  Staff arrive from 7.00am and need to be able to access these spaces.  There are visitor parking bays available to the left of the front door and outside the NBC if required. Thank you for your understanding.

Hopefully, you will have received the order information for your son’s class photograph and whole school photograph. A proof card was given to the boys, so if you have not seen it yet, you may need to rummage in their book bags. To place an order for the class photograph you will need to visit and enter the login and password listed on the card.

Please click HERE to order the whole school photograph.

Healthy Living Week has been a huge success. The children have really enjoyed learning about all the different aspects of what Healthy Living means and it has been lovely watching them trying a new food, new activity, and trying to drink a little more water. We also remind the boys that this isn’t just for one week; please help at home to continue these healthy habits. We also ask that when providing snacks at school, you try to reduce the amount of plastic packaging. Fresh fruit and vegetables are always healthier, rather than packaged fruit suckies or fruit winders.

A reminder that the boys need to bring in their own clothes for swimming next week in aid of Water Safety week.

We are starting to prepare for our Early Years Sports Day which is being held on Friday 28 June. We hope for a lovely sunny day so please ensure you apply suncream prior to coming to school. A reminder that all parents and grandparents are warmly invited to join us for the session.  All Nursery children are invited to participate even if you do not attend on a Friday, please let me know.

The Nursery children will need to wear their red Nursery t-shirt, own navy blue shorts, Nursery blue sweatshirt, socks and trainers. They will also need a named sunhat and named water bottle. The Reception boys will need to come to school in their white shorts, white socks, white PE tops and white trainers. They will also need their water bottle and school sun hats.
