Policies & Reports
At The New Beacon, transparency, accountability, and excellence are at the heart of everything we do.
Our policies provide a clear framework for the school’s operations, ensuring consistency and best practices across all areas of school life. In addition, inspection reports offer an independent evaluation of our educational standards, pastoral care, and overall provision. This page provides access to key regulatory policies and official inspection reports, offering parents and prospective families insight into how we maintain and uphold our high standards.

Safeguarding at The New Beacon
At The New Beacon we are committed to keeping our pupils safe. We aim to provide a safe and secure environment for all our pupils and promote values of mutual respect. We want our students to feel able to discuss their concerns with a member of staff they can trust. If you wish to do so you can contact your child’s form teacher, Head of Section or the Designated Safeguarding Lead, Kate Spoor (Pastoral Deputy Head).

Inspection Reports
The New Beacon is committed to maintaining the highest standards of education, pastoral care, and governance. Our school undergoes regular inspections by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI), which evaluates both educational and welfare provisions, including boarding and Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) settings. These comprehensive inspections take place every six years, with more frequent reviews for boarding and EYFS every three years. Additionally, Ofsted may conduct inspections as required. Our Board of Governors also plays a crucial role in ensuring that school operations, academic standards, and financial stability are consistently upheld.

The Good Schools Guide, 2025
Review Summary
“The school works hard to develop confidence and self-belief and is good at spotting potential – ‘my son would not get on the stage when he joined but now has the main part in the school play’, .”

Solidly academic with a great sporting reputation and excellent pastoral care, it mixes tradition and innovation with aplomb, producing happy, purposeful and well-rounded pupils…
